Sensational The classical crossover group The Texas Tenors is bringing its signature sounds to the Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall!
The Texas Tenors was formed in 2009 and is trio of vocalists consisting of Marcus Collins (an experienced pop music and show tunes singer who also enjoyed a successful stint in musical theater and TV acting), JC Fisher (a classically trained vocalist who also hads a background in country and pop music), and John Hagen (an accomplished classical vocalist who sang with respected professional opera companies across the United States). JC (who holds a Master's degree in music) was working as an entertainer on cruise ships when he got the idea of forming a trio that could cross the boundaries of the classical genre while performing with lush orchestral arrangements. Their musical style can be best described as a blend of classical, adult contemporary, pop, and Americana (contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots oriented sound). They started to get mainstream recognition after they auditioned for the 4th season of America’s Got Talent. They went on to have a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 2 live albums, 2 video albums, and 2 singles.
